"a door to the spaces in between" makes me think of a meditation I did on focusing not on the tree or the branches, but the space in between. the pause in between breaths. that is where we reside.

So true! Thanks Josh. Often those spaces are right in front of us. We just need to lean in. Something tells me you do that well. 🙏❤️

Jamie, you appear to have the ability to capture our most valuable human traits, existential questions, and desire for transcendence in so few words, combining spirituality with philosophy, poetry and writers, psychology and life; you are a one-of-a-kind alchemist. Keep doing your magic! I'm here to stay :)

This quote will be preserved next to my drawings and poetry journal as inspiration for future drawings or thoughts; thank you!

"Our hearts change in these moments and we can only see the effect through how we meet the world. These moments have changed us. We see what we have versus what we don’t have."

Wow Katerina. Thank you! The door between spirituality, philosophy, poetry, psychology and life is one I hope to walk through, even crawl through often. Thanks for seeing me in those ineffable spaces between feelings that I am trying to anoint with ink. Big hugs..mulțumesc 🤲

There’s so much represented in doorways and doors. I held a day course for male prisoners on the significance of stepping through different doors in our lifetime. The difference between them entering the prison gates and a prison officer, a patient, a visitor and a doctor crossing the threshold of a hospital, a child and a teacher entering the classroom - it was an interesting exercise in exploring feelings and doors as portals to self examination. Love this Jamie, thank you, it’s got me thinking on it all over again. Such depth.❤️

Thanks Alice! That sounds like my kind of course! Crossing thresholds. Self inquiry. The doors are there once we open our heart to see them. I hope you’re feeling better and I look forward to your next shared piece. Thank you so much for reading and for reaching out. May Chipping C bring you sunshine and doors 🙏❤️

Beautiful Jamie. I really feel this one. I try and remind myself to find those openings in every moment, the pause, the space between the music. It's a life long practice but god it feels good when you squeeze through the doorway and stand in that vast space! A falcon - ahhh yes! 😊

"Why do you stay in prison when the door is wide open....the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you." Apologies to Rumi if this is slightly misquoted. He has been translated so many times but you get the gist!

Thanks Jamie. 🙏

I love that Rumi quote! Thanks so much Jo. Keep squeezing through those doors! So often they are right in front of us and we walk right past. Bless you more doors and vast spaces, and a sheepskin rug! 🙏❤️

Thanks, Jamie. I love this idea that we are :

"In between the known and the unknown.

Thats us!

The human experience.

We are the doors!

Maybe we are here to just open and close doors?"

"I live my life in widening circles" - Rainer Maria Rilke

I love this Jamie! The question of our existence. And through opening, passing through and closing doors! So good! I wrote a piece last March, 2023, called Silver Linings and used Rilke's poem. We are definitely reflecting as we age. ox

Beautiful!!! ❤️

And the perfect accompanying poem for my Ever A Sign song. Because what you write here is exactly what I was meaning. Those glimpses of Source, confirming its ever-presence with signs and clues. But you knew that already!

Thank you so much Jacqueline! Definitely some synchronicity there! I love your song, and I resonate with those moments that open us up and rename us. Doors. Keep singing. We need you. 🙏❤️

Doors...

Movable barriers, or the spaces marking the thresholds?

Passageways between spaces, or gaps in boundaries, walls, and fences?

Gates or gateways?

Openings or closures?

Entries and exits, vents or hatches?

Ports, portholes, or portals?

Your poems are doors into your world 🙏 💕

An expression many resist or deny. 'When one door closes Someone Divine opens another'. If we turn the knob or the handle.

Thanks Clement! Divinity guides us to the door. That handle often only turns to the inside! Most of us have been pushing not pulling. Thank you so much for reading and for reaching out! 🙏❤️

I remember crawling through some very narrow 'doors' on the coal-face as an apprentice mining engineer ... and then a whole cave of wonders opened up. And you always think "is this going to be worth it?" It usually is. Love the poem, Josh.

Oh my, Jamie I love this article! The poem is just beautiful! You are a master of metaphors! The door opens to the inside, yes! I've always been fascinated by doors and often take pictures of them. There are so many different types of doors and every door reveals a different place. ❤️🙏
