Born Again
Reaching for the light
You break free
Any barriers
Defenceless
Against the strength
of the essence
That drives all desire
Wings unfolding
as they meet the invitation
of life
Kissing the freedom
of air
Your purpose
Already known
As you open your eyes
Fighting for breath
Startled by the cries
of your own
Arrival

The rebirth of spring is now singing loudly to us here in the northern hemisphere. This poem depicts the advent of our soul as it crosses the threshold, arriving into this vessel of life. We astonishingly abruptly awaken into this life. Our sacred expression already burning deep inside of us, as the very being of our spirit. We are born again into this experience. The hand of our divine purpose is guiding us toward the light of love. We are born again into living the questions.
If life is a maze, we can get lost trying to find our way out. However, inside of a labyrinth we will find our very own centre. Our soul. Nostos. Rather than a hero’s journey, our life is more so a soul journey. More inwards and deeper, circular yet fractal. Less individual and more diversely community. The very lessons of life dance with our essence as we explore this spiral labyrinth of sweet mysterious existence to come home to love.
I believe that poetry is meant to be read out loud. Reading and listening to a poem is meditative and the words create an intimate encounter with presence. Poetry is a wonderful addition to a spiritual practice.
This poem is courtesy of my book Cuoreosity: The HeArt of Being. The second interactive edition has just been released. Cuoreosity is a poetic invitation to live into the questions. The questions that have no right to go away. The questions that deal with who we are becoming. Check out the book and enjoy the journey with me.

Such a beautiful poem, Jamie! I once heard "fear is a good push, but Love is a wonderful pull" and I think our essence pulls us towards who we are here to be. The journey can only be understood as a whole. The birth pains are incredibly huge sometimes, especially if we resist the change of the seasons. It is softly raining today in Ireland, yet the birds sing loudly and the trees start to sprout, it's beautiful and matches the rhythm of your poetry. Thanks for sharing! 💕
Born into living the questions❣️
(while questioning the predigested and regurgitated answers presented to us as 'our lot in life'.)
Any barriers are defenceless against the strength of the essence...
... as they meet the invitation❣️
to enter the maze of life ~ to find our way out of the maze and into life and light and love 💕🙏
This reminds me of a word we invented some years ago ::: 'quanswer' = a question which contains its own answer.
