To wander!
As J.R.R.Tolkien wrote “Not all those who wander are lost”.
Wander lost?
Wander lust.
Wanderlust
The term originates from the German words Wandern (to hike) and Lust (desire). Taken literally this is translated as the enjoyment of hiking. Wanderlust is more commonly known as the enjoyment of strolling, roaming about, or wandering. Someone who has wanderlust has a strong desire to travel. In recent years, the word wanderlust is less commonly used especially in German, having been largely supplanted by Fernweh ,the longing for far away places. To peregrinate means to travel or wander around from place to place. A wayfarer is a person who travels from place to place, usually by walking.
Many words intersect and overlap this travelling journey. Sojourn is defined as an impermanent stay reached by journey, or a period of temporary residence. Sounds like a definition of life itself. The places where we end up laying our head will ultimately be transient, yet the places where we leave our heart will be ours for a lifetime.

From wander to wonder!
Wayne Dyer shared that “if we change the way we look at things then the things we look at change”.
The way we look at things changes on a holiday or a vacation away. Things look different. They see through us. Time slows down and we often vacate time. Time is out of mind. We enter into the lust of wander and into the now of wonder. It just happens. We disappear into presence. We enter into the now of here. Everything shines with light. These moments transfigure and transform us. Water turns to wine.
Transfiguration
It just happens.
These wandering moments
bring the world into being.
I’d rather ride the waves
of a rolling river
as it wynds through the great glens
leaving me wet with wonder.
Wilfully chafed by the wisp
of sweet mist on the horizon.
The distant hills only just revealing
their fullness to the light.
The breeze kisses my tongue
with the brine musk of the sea.
I drown in her stories.
I lean in for more.
Even Jesus turned water into wine.
