Thank you Veronika. I love that story you shared. It’s definitely a soul Journey. Something tells me you’ve been writing the right book all along. We are the dark “knight” of the soul. I’ve never burned a book but often I burn some words as a ritual to set them free in a form of gratitude. There’s definitely some kind of healing in that process it seems too. An awareness that in those flames and it that ash, a transformation arrives. Thank you so much for your support! Bless you.
Thanks Jo! The picture was definitely me having a little fun. Thanks for seeing me. In the end, I believe it all comes down to that inside journey of soul. We all get there eventually, and there’s no way to bypass the experiences on the way it seems. Thanks so much for reading and reaching out. Bless you 🙏❤️
Thank you so much Mo! In the words of Zorba- let’s dance! Your writing does the same for me. I’ll find you in the spaces between the words. Bless you 🙏❤️
I had to look up the word "peristaltic" which I had never heard of. Love learning new words. Thanks!
Cute photo! We say "cute" in NZ to mean funny, lovely, playful etc so hope it doesn't mean something different in Canada. 😝
And now on a more spiritual note:
" Ascending
to stare into the face
of your saviour
Staggering back in surprise
As you are met
by the loving gaze
of your very own
eyes."
Beautifully written Jamie. It took me 40 years to work out that one. Growing up in a Christian fundamentalist family I had been taught that the answer was outside of myself. I had also been taught not to question that. After religion, I was told that medication was the answer to all life's woes. Both those caused me so much damage.
It's such a relief to find the answers are within.
Lovely to read. Thank you for what you do here Jamie for all in your warm hearted and open minded community. 🙏
Beautiful meditation on storms and their purpose and the power of forgiving yourself. I love the poem at the end, especially the imagery of the extinction burst. Thank you, Jamie.
Thanks Jenn! An extinction burst of transformation- a new way of seeing . Once the door to soul opens there is no going back. Authenticity will not be quieted. Bless you. Thanks for reading! 🙏❤️
This is a fantastic piece! So many sentences and paragraphs I want to highlight.
Apropos highlight ~ your brilliant poem at the end bundles it all together into one shaft of illuminating the struggle ~ and its resolution. Thank you Jamie 💕🙏
Your writing also reminds me of a brief but memorable conversation with Josh when we first met. Having come out of a traumatic situation a couple of years earlier (and still in my healing process) I was reading Stanislav & Christina Grof's 'The Stormy Search for the Self'.
Josh picked up the book, which was lying beside my bed and held it up in a triumphant gesture
"You've been reading the wrong book!" he declared, as if he'd just found the solution to all my troubles.
At the time we both laughed, of course, because it was meant as a joke, and hilarious in the moment.
In hindsight it makes me think, whether throwing a book into the fire, as a ritual, as a sacrifice, might have curative powers...

I love that❣️
Big hugs, or beijinhos e abraços, as we say in Portugal

"Are we telling our story or is it telling us?" And the answer is yes, yes. At least let's make it a good story.
Thanks Muriel! The greatest story ever told. The journey from fear to love. The miracle of our lives. 🙏❤️
Thanks, Jamie; I'll always be reborn after reading and listening to your poetry. You take me to that place where I want to be.
