When you do things from your soul,
you feel a river moving in you, a joy.Rumi
The Cuoreodyssey
As I grow older and as I approach the sweet darkness of the dusk of my life I often ask this present version of self what advice I would share with that younger eighteen year old version, if we ever had the chance to sit down and enjoy a drink together.
At 55 I see things much more clearly than at 18. I am not on a straight out linear path for mastery and I now fully embrace the spiralling double helix fire of naked mystery. I fully understand that I am a body in a soul, a spiritual being having a human experience. We don’t ultimately search for ourself. We find ourself at the centre of this labyrinth. At 55 I can now feel that I am a part of something much bigger and beyond this self, born of stardust, and connected to a oneness of cosmic consciousness with source herself.
In my mind, religion, spirituality, and authenticity
mean one thing: awakening to our aliveness.
Awakening. Being aware of Being!
We are living a life. Possibly lifetimes. Somewhere between a value and a vow. Conscious and unconscious. Somewhere between sweet tenderness and the wild passion of the rapture of being alive. Somewhere between a kiss and a revelation. Somewhere between human and divine. Somewhere between a body and a soul. Deep in the heartfulness of essence. Into the now of here. An envoy of existence. Presence.
Somewhere between a story and a poem and in all of the spaces in between, the journey has always been about coming home to the love of source. Forgotten not lost. We are love. We are a blessing!
It is said that a prayer may be a conversation with the divinity of source. A blessing is different. The word blessing comes from the Old English: Bletsian which means “to sanctify or consecrate with blood”. Blood is life. Blood connects us to the earthly, to the cosmic, to the body and to the spiritually divine.
Different than a greeting, an affirmation or a hug, a blessing opens a door to our soul. To invoke a blessing is to intimately connect to the wholeness of another’s soul, touching that life force shared spirit of oneness that connects us all.
Please accept this as my blessing to the world. My epilogue. My epitaph. My blessing to all of you. A blessing to myself at 55, at 18, and at all points in between on this great cuoreodyssey of a widening circle as an endless love song that connects us all. Everywhere. Forever. Here.
A Blessing of Cuoreosity
As the flower of grace
blossoms to find you
may you live life true to yourself
shedding what is false
to be who you are here to be.
May you be courageous and brave
allowing your heart to be cracked wide open
in a deep embrace
with the intimacy of vulnerability.
May you let go of judgement
for believing is truly seeing.
Listening is the sincerest form of respect.
May the gate of empathy
always lead you into the arms of compassion.
Self love is always the first step
on the path to forgiveness and healing.
The only gift we can truly give to another
is the fruit of the harvest
of our own authenticity.
May you accept the invitation
of the deeper conversations
that will shape your spirit
as you live into the light
of the very questions themselves.
The pilgrimage to the inside
is where we will find ourselves
at the centre of the labyrinth.
May you look inwards
before you go outside
to seek your answers.
Introspection is our truest adventure
as doing flows from being.
We are human beings.
In the unique rediscovery of your own purpose
may the intention of your sacred expression
make its way into the world.
Our soul knows the path of our existence.
We are souls having a human experience.
In the transcendence of the self
may you feel the gentle hug of your soul
wrapped as a cloak all around you.
For we are a body in a soul.
The universe is a creative force.
Wisdom is a journey from imitation to creation.
Creating from true authenticity
is what moves the world forward.
May the divinity of nature always be your guide.
We are connected to everything
and are connected with everything.
May you greet the mystery of the unknown
as you surrender to the journey.
God shows up in us as us.
Give and so you shall receive
for what you seek is seeking you.
May the expansion of presence greet you
as the bliss of moments.
For joy exists in the now and the here.
We are love.
May you come home to love
as the cuoreosity of your own arrival
swallows you whole.
