Our poems will have failed
if our readers are not brought by them beyond the poems.Muriel Rukeyser
The journey will always be our home. The world invites. It does not require. We are invited to respond. We live into the discoveries, grasping at a mystery that we will never understand. The universe never answers why. The annunciation of experience is a bone deep feeling. Everything and nothing are angels migrating to a space beyond a name. We are more than words. We are the thing itself. The fruit inside the seed. Our own poetry will arise in a place that is not the mind. It patiently and mysteriously waits there and slowly it becomes our lives.
Luminating
The world gives and the world takes
There is softness around the hard edges
Kindness can be found in the cracks
of closed doors
Beauty is born in the womb of storms
Rising as rivers of wrinkles
that unfold the creases of lies
Darkness dances us into the bones
of light
The hands of time
may be the queen
that feeds us
Yet we are the kingdom
Everything flows through us
Drawn within as an expanding ache
Inside the spiralling tapestry of breathing
We take it all in
and as we exhale
We decide
what we will see

I believe that poetry is meant to be read out loud. Reading, writing and listening to a poem is meditative and the words create an intimate encounter with the heartfulness of presence. Poetry is a wonderful addition to a spiritual practice as it connects us to ourselves, to others, to this world and to our spirit.
Please reach out to me if I can be of any assistance on your journey through the poetic dangling conversation between mystery, your heart and time. I see you in the soul fire of your unfolding.

Thanks! The start and end came out in a minute while on a speaking engagement in the prairies of Saskatchewan in Canada. I was in a new place and astonished by nature. Big sky. It swallowed me. I wrote a few poems over a few days. I left it, and came back to it months later and bridged it. I like to create my own words and Luminating found me as a take on how we perceive brightness. Light. Its all around us yet there is so much light to see. If we chose to see it. Thanks for reading! Bless you 🙏❤️
I love the pic - it takes me beyond the poem, even. I love this: "Beauty is born in the womb of storms." If I may ask, what inspired this poem? You don't have to say...but I am curious the stories behind the poems, as for me, often I dance between prose and poetry, like the right and left brain hopping and skipping down the street of this awe-inspiring, totally fucking insane, beautiful world we live in and are here to both accept and transform to allow that light into the bones, crystalizing our higher self into a more full expression of Soul within form.
